H2X Operating Manual (All Control Panels)
Operating reference for Master Spa H2X series across all control panel variants.
Common Owner Manual Problems This Guide Covers
A technician or owner should open this document when the H2X swim spa displays an error code on the control panel, or when guidance is needed on routine operation, water care, or initial setup across any H2X control panel variant..
What it helps you resolve
- Control panel showing HL , spa water has reached 119°F (48°C), do not enter
- Control panel showing OH , spa water has reached 108°F (42°C), do not enter
- Control panel showing FLO , no water flow detected during main pump operation
- Control panel showing Prr , regulation probe fault detected
- Control panel showing AOH , temperature inside spa skirt is too high
- Control panel showing UPL , no low-level configuration in memory, in.stik required
When not to use
This document does not cover component-level repairs, board replacement, or plumbing work , those require a service manual.
Fault codes covered
Quick diagnosis
HL and OH are temperature safety shutdowns , do not enter the water. FLO indicates a flow problem; check pump operation and filter condition. Prr indicates a regulation probe fault requiring inspection. AOH means the cabinet air temperature is too high. UPL requires programming the control unit with a valid in.stik.

What does the HL error code mean on a Master Spa H2X?
HL means the water temperature in the heater has reached 119°F (48°C). This is a high-limit safety shutdown. Do not enter the spa water. Allow the water to cool and investigate the cause of overheating before resuming use.
What does the OH error code mean on a Master Spa H2X?
OH means the spa water temperature has reached 108°F (42°C). Do not enter the spa water. This is a safety overheat warning. The system will shut down to protect users. Allow the water to cool before investigating the cause.
What does FLO mean on the H2X control panel?
FLO indicates the system has detected no water flow during main pump operation. Check that the pump is running, the filter is clean, all valves are open, and the water level is adequate. Persistent FLO errors after confirming flow usually indicate a faulty flow sensor.
What does UPL mean on the H2X control panel?
UPL means no low-level configuration is present in the control system memory. A valid in.stik must be inserted to program the control unit before the spa will operate normally.
What does Prr mean on the H2X control panel?
Prr indicates a problem with the regulation probe. The system constantly checks that probe temperatures are within normal limits. A Prr fault means the probe reading is outside the expected range, requiring inspection of the probe connections or probe replacement.
What does AOH mean on the H2X control panel?
AOH means the temperature inside the spa skirt (cabinet) is too high, causing an increase in the internal temperature of the control system above normal limits. Check that cabinet ventilation is not blocked and that the area around the spa has adequate airflow.
