Gecko Troubleshooting Guide (Y-Series & in.XE Systems)
Combined fault code diagnosis for Gecko Y-Series and in.XE spa control systems.
Common Control Panel Problems This Guide Covers
A technician should open this when diagnosing error codes on a Gecko Y-Series or in.XE series spa control system. The in.XE is an entry-level Gecko system; confirm the board type before using this guide..
What it helps you resolve
- in.XE display showing SN fault code
- OH overheat code on in.XE system
- FL1 flow switch code on in.XE
- Y-Series fault combined with in.XE accessory
- Heater not activating on in.XE controlled spa
- Control pad unresponsive on in.XE board
When not to use
This does not cover S-Class or MSPA-MP boards. For those, use the Gecko S-Class troubleshooting guide.

Quick diagnosis
The in.XE is a simplified entry-level Gecko system. Most in.XE faults are sensor (SN), flow (FL1), or overheat (OH/OHH) related. Follow the sensor resistance table in this guide. For in.XE, also check the simplified wiring diagram , fewer outputs mean fewer points of failure.

What is the Gecko in.XE control system?
The in.XE is an entry-level Gecko spa control system designed for smaller, simpler hot tubs. It supports fewer pumps and accessories than the Y-Series or S-Class but uses the same fundamental sensor and flow switch monitoring architecture.
Does the in.XE show the same error codes as the Y-Series?
Yes, most error codes including SN, OH, OHH, FL1, and ICE appear on both Y-Series and in.XE systems. However, test procedures and component locations differ. Always use this combined guide rather than the S-Class guide for in.XE diagnosis.
What does FL1 mean on a Gecko in.XE spa?
FL1 on an in.XE system means the flow switch has not detected adequate water flow through the heater. Check that the main pump is running, the filter is clean, and the flow switch is not mechanically stuck. The in.XE uses a single flow switch; if the switch tests good, check the heater inlet for blockage.
My Gecko in.XE shows SN , what should I check?
SN indicates a temperature sensor fault. Disconnect the sensor leads from the board and measure resistance across them with the board unpowered. Compare the resistance to the temperature table in this guide. If the sensor reads open or shorted, replace it. If resistance is within range, the fault may be a board input failure.
